Enjoy an evening with one of the UKs leading female chefs, Lisa Goodwin-Allen. Our Executive Chef can often be seen on Saturday Kitchen & MasterChef. She was also one of the winners of the 2010 Great British Menu on BBC2. Lisa is passionate about using seasonal and locally sourced ingredients to incorporate her Lancashire roots into her creative dishes. On this special evening Lisa will introduce her menu, talk about her journey at Northcote which began when she was just 20 years old and what she has planned for the future of the Northcote kitchen. We'll also be hearing from Jack Straw, former politician, now Chairman of Blackburn Youth Zone. We're honoured to be hosting this event which will raise money for the Blackburn Youth Zone mentoring programme, supporting vulnerable young people in a time of crisis in their lives. By giving them a mentor who provides one to one support and guidance over a 12 month period means that 80% of young people on the programme achieve personal development, progression in confidence, social skills, relationships, emotional, health and aspirations. We have a responsibility to help support and nurture the young people of this community. Now more than ever young people need our understanding, guidance and knowledge to help give them the tools needed to build a brighter future. Together, we have the ability to make change happen.
